Sombra is an underground park that stems from the defamiliarization of a cube’s shadows. It takes a cube’s sharp edges and forty-five degree shadows and turns them into an entirely new system. It starts with photos but is also connected through lines and subtractions. Thus, it eventually becomes a system of line drawings that are erected and, in that new format, can build up novel shadows between their parts and become a bar relief. From there, you can go downwards and create a park defined by and experienced through the light from above, filtered along multiple levels.
